What does a ‘Peaceful Place’ mean to you?

That was the question at the heart of our recent gathering at the Riddiford Arboretum, the first step in introducing and activating the Peaceful Place Project and the Community Labyrinth.

The day began with a wellbeing walk, followed by a community day that invited people to come together, spend time in the space, and start imagining what it could become.

There was a real sense of openness to the day. A guided walk of the temporary labyrinth and tile-making workshops were a meaningful part of the day, providing a chance for people to create something personal, whether in memory of someone, for healing, or as an expression of hope.

We also shared a sausage sizzle thanks to PCYC, which helped create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and gave people time to sit, talk, and connect.

It was great to see the community come together and begin using the space as it’s intended, as a peaceful place, where conversations around mental health can continue naturally, and where people can feel a sense of connection.

We also invited people to take part in a short community survey.

A heartfelt thank you to all the organisations and partners who supported the day and helped make it possible, and to everyone who came along and took part.

If you weren’t able to attend, you can still be part of it.

Complete the survey here:

It only takes a couple of minutes, and your input will help guide what this space becomes.

This is just the beginning.

Let’s build something meaningful together.
